It's hard to imagine life without YouTube. There are all of those funny/crazy clips that I get from friends who seem to do nothing but scour YouTube for things to send around - the more outrageous the better. But it's also a great source for music, dance and drama previews and material; how-to material/demos; and even veterinary information. Recently, during a consultation about a cat with a strange sounding cough, one of my vets opened YouTube on her cellphone and found video clips showing cats with similar sounding coughs. I was able to confirm which one sounded and moved just like mine (since the cat wasn't coughing while in the vet's office). That actually narrowed down the diagnosis pretty quickly.
YouTube videos have potential for promoting library events. Demo clips (how-to clips on various practical skills, for example) could be used on resource webpages.
